How can I be a better Libero to my team?

I've been playing volleyball for 7 years and I absolutely love it. I have never played on a club team (I want to, I just can't afford it). I believe my two strongest points are my serving and my digging. Last year was the first time I was actually put into a game as a Libero and I continue to serve as my high school's Libero. Unfortunately, we got a new coach (and she's not very good) and I don't think she's putting me in when I need to be in. I don't know whether she thinks my skills are shabby.. Or what. I prefer to be a very aggressive player. I'm not afraid to run into people or dive on the floor- anything to get a ball in the air to my setter. I'm very loud and competitive on my team. How can I prove my skills to my team and most importantly my coach so I can get more playing time? Also, if you have any exercises for improving vertical jump would be appreciated. I'm only 5 feet and I cannot play the front row unless I improve my vertical leap. Thanks!

Pain from playing guitar in Intermediate Phalanges?

Hi there. I've been playing guitar for about a year and a half now. About 6 months ago i was experiencing really bad pain on my fretting hand (left). it was between my pink and ring knuckles. That pain is gone now. where im feeling pain is called the intermediate phalanges. its on my ring finger and on the middle part of it. below the fingernail and above where a wedding ring usually goes. Has anybody ever experienced this? it especially hurts when i try to fret a chord or whatever.

My nail polish cracks after I paint my nails?

Every time I paint my nails (in a french manicure) the polish cracks the next day. I let them dry and set, I have tried different clear coats, different white polish brands, I make sure my fingernails are clean before I paint them...I do everything! But for some reason, the day after I paint them they start to get cracks in the paint. And by the 4th or 5th day, they are completely cracked and it bugs me. What's the deal, and how can I fix/prevent it?

Do you think marching band is a sport?

I don't think I have ever heard a good argument for this one. I have been in it and I know that it's hard, but so is getting a 2400 on an sat or painting the fingernails of your dominant hand. Difficulty really isn't a good measure of what is a sport and what isn't, so can I get some good arguments please? And none of this "we practice more than any other sport" bullsh*t. I know you do, but that's only because you're not working as hard. Think about it, some honors students study for 5+ hours a night in addition to school. So why do you think it is? Or isn't?

Pregnancy test result a bit confusing..?

I would wait til tomorrow morning with first morning's urine and take a different test. First Response is a good one. If you get a positive it wouldnt just disappear. Also... one like on there will always show up no matter if your pregnant or not... its like the control line to insure you that the test worked. A second line will show up if it detects the HCG hormone.

If the appointment setter job is paid on commission then I would take dress barn anyways. I was an appointment setter for Worldmark by Wyndham and it was the worst job EVER!!! What is the difference between flea bites and bedbug bites?

I have only a few small red bites on my foot/ankle area that itch, but not too bad. One of them itched really bad so I used my sock to scratch it thinking it would be better than scratching with my fingernails. After I scratched it the spot became instantly bigger and very bright red around the boarder and slightly lighter in the center. There is no redness around any other part of it. It is leaking fluid, I saw this on my sock and the band-aid. It gets redder daily, but does not itch anymore. I am not getting any more bites at all. I was outside, on my wooden stairwell of my apartments. We live in an area where sand is common, even in the soil. I have had flea bites before and none of them ever looked like the big bite I have, but they looked just like the other bites. Like I said it looks close to a cigarette burn, but that isn't what it is. My neighbor had her apartment treated for bedbugs, and I was standing close to her front door, but so were my husband, two children, a friend of my child's, and two other neighbors of ours. None of them have the bites.

When will my iron pills start working?

Hi, I am a 13 year old girl. I recently had my blood drawn at a doctor's appointment, and I found out that my iron levels are pretty low. It made sense, because I have been experiencing a lot of the symptoms of an iron deficiency- I've been super tired lately (bags under my eyes too), sometimes get lightheaded and dizzy, have been getting bad headaches, have somewhat pale skin, grooved fingernails, sometimes feel short of breath, and I grow really slowly, I've always been underweight (I'm 5 foot, 84 pounds). I was prescribed for some iron pills, which I just started taking two days ago. I mean, I didn't expect them to magically cure everything as soon as I took them, but when are they going to start working? I had a headache today, and while I was standing in my room I suddenly felt dizzy enough that I lost my balance and started to lean over to one side! That has never actually happened before... I also have an anxiety disorder, so when I get these symptoms it can sometimes really stress me out. I am a really active person- play soccer, basketball, run track- but lately, I've either gotten a bad enough headache, felt so lightheaded, or just been tired enough that I haven't been able to play in my soccer games or run my track meets! I feel like I'm letting my team down, and I just want to get back to the way I used to be. My question is, when are these iron pills going to kick in, because I'm tired of feeling bad all the time! Also, any tips on coping with headaches and lightheadedness?

My friend decided to put glitter gel nails on my fingernails even though they're only for toenails. She failed to mention that they ruin your nails when you take them off. False nails and lack of vitamin D. What is causing my onycholysis?

I have been wearing false nails for about 4 months and have recently been diagnosed with a vitamin D deficiency. Now I have noticed that my left pinky fingernail is separating from the nail bed at the left side of my nail and the cuticle is receding! I am a hair stylist and my hands are in water a lot; I have read that this probably is not helping the matter. Furthermore, the past couple of times I have gotten my nails done I have noticed that the cuticles (all of them, not just the one) have itched rather severely for a couple of days after receiving the service. Needless to say the nails are coming off although much to my dismay. So I would like to know is it more likely that the false nails are the cause of the onycholysis or is the lack if vitamin D to blame here?

Extreme Situation?? (please help out)?

Ok, so im currently in 8th grade. I've played 7th and 8th grade at my school. Im a setter, and im one of the only girls who play all the way around the court. I serve pretty good overhand (my record is 14 in a row, half of them aces), I won the all team conference award this year, im actually a nice leader, and i really like the coach, and she likes me a lot. My school is class B so we arent like, huge. My high school has about 420 kids in it. But we have some amazing players. When i get in my zone, i will destroy you, or die trying. But i dont really have an attitude. I'm going to like 3 advanced camps over the summer along with some tournaments. I'm 5' 7" and strong, and like 130 pounds which i know, im fat, but hey, i can still jump very high. I'm also a very fast learner, and my reaction time is great, and i adore volleyball so much because i can actually use my brain and think about my options. If you think that i can make it, do you think i could stay a setter? just please give me your honest opinion, thanks a bunch!

...their book being too similar to another popular book. In my case, it's Harry Potter. I had the idea for my book before I'd even read or seen the Harry Potter movies (I'm a fan now though! :) and it seems pretty similar not in the characters or...story to story plot line per se...but in the general plot of the series. It has a boy going to a place secret from this world where there is magic that humans can learn and yes, there is a school that teaches that because what society could function without a school haha. And I've tried adding details to it to make it different but the overview that I just said stays almost the same! I guess I'm asking... what are the limits at which point it's too recognizably similar to Harry Potter to look over or ignore. I mean if some people are saying Percy Jackson is similar to Harry Potter than my story certainly is...the issue is that magic (or so we'll call it) is essential to the plot and it's just great fun to write about. I have no idea what to do...I can't even begin to write the series (I have it all outlined) until I sort this out... Thanks for any advice and opinions! :)

Agree, next time keep the bug and ask the vet clinic to identify it for you. The common parasites are lice and mites. Lice are gray, the nits are white but very tiny. Mites are brown but very tiny. If your dog's not on flea/tick preventive like Frontline Plus, highly recommend it :)

Skin peeling under shaft of my penis?

i would say setter because if you are halfway decent at all fo the fundamentals of the game and you have great hands then u should definitely set because then you are always a presence on the floor and you have a chance to perform every aspect of the game.

You definetly could be pregnant, even if the home pregnancy tests are saying negative. some woman just won't show up postive on those for awhile. i've heard of it happening, where they will keep getting negatives for months even tho they are really pregnant. definetly schedule a doctors appointment and have them run a blood test to check for pregnancy. those are 100 % accurate.

My dog was convicted of being a dangerous dog in PA can you help?

A few months ago my 4 year old english setter got loose and was running around of neighborhood, which is a somewhat rural area. He gets loose often because he can open the doors in my house. That same day i arrived home to find the local dog catcher at my door claiming that my dog had killed the neighbors peacock. I was written a summons to appear in court. My neighbor never found the body of the peacock all he found was feathers. At the hearing he claimed that his wife had to spend three days in the icu because she was so distruaght, but he had no evidence of this. He also had letters from other neighbors claiming that the dog was seen running loose and that he had apparently killed one of their rabbits. (I dont see how he could have open the cage to kill the rabbit). My dog has never showed any aggresion towards humans or other animals ever. I regularly take him to the dog park with no problems. Today i recieved the guideline to which i must comply, its states that he has to be muzzled when outside, always on a leash, neutered, chipped, registered every year as a dangerous dog, and if he gets loose again they will put him down. My dog has been trained from birth to hunt. He is a bird dog, there is no way he can differenciate between a wild animal and a pet. He was going off of instinct. I agree that he should always be on a leash, but that means ill never be able to take him hunting again. I am going to appeal, i just need a really good arguement to back me up. Can anyone help?

Hi I'm in eighth grade. Tryouts for the highschool volleyball team start next week. I have been playing for four years; in 4th grade I was on rec and 5th grade thru 8th (now) I have been on a really good club team. I am good at serving & jump serving, okay at outside & middle hitter, great at backrow, and (not to brag) really really good at setter. And I was kind of mad when at the pre tryout meeting there were a bunch of former cheerleaders that were just in it for the spandex shorts. So do you think I would possibly make it to jv or even varsity? The coach told me that from what she has heard about me that I will probably skip the freshman team and it's between jv and varsity. Could I get on a lower volleyball team? (Middle School)?

It's almost summer break, and I'm looking forward to going to a bunch of volleyball camps. I'm going to three, but I'm worried I won't still have the skill I had last year. Our school has three teams; (listed highest team to lowest) Varsity A, Varsity B, and JV. I really want to be back on Varsity A for my eighth grade year, I was on it last year, (I was the setter) but I'm not sure if I'm qualified to go down to Varsity B. This might be an unfair advantage, since I played on a higher level. I didn't get much playing time last year because there were only five seven graders on the Varsity A team, and the rest were eighth graders. So could I be bumped down to a lower team?

Libero or setter are your best choices. A left handed setter is something that really attracts coaches, but based off your height your best bet is to choose a defesive specialist or libero. I'm 5'5 and that's the been my spot for years. It takes a lot of work, Other positions may disagree but volleyball is a game of control and Liberos tend to have the most control. honestly you just have to wait it out.. keep telling people the same thing, and wait til prom is over so people can stop asking. prom isn't for everyone and you aren't weird because of it. good for you for staying true to yourself.

What's with the hate on long nails?

I have natural long nails and can't stand short ones. On guys they are ok but on girls it make you look manly and gross. No matter what if you nails are short I think they bite them which is nasty. I take a lot of time taking care of my nails and love them long, and other people do too (so I can scratch their backs). They are also useful weapons. You piss me off and I wil scratch or dig my nails into you.

A couple months ago, a couple days before spring break I was in my metal tech shop class horsing around with a friend when I cut my elbow on a sharp dirty locker edge the stitches worked nicely but now its near the end of june and the scar is about dark red and very visible....My problem is that whenever I hit that area on a corner of a door or one of my friends accidentally scratch it with a fingernail I get this sickening sharp shooting pain...Btw the cut was bone deep 10 stitches...Should it still be painful to this day?

I think you have very good chances of making the JV or the varsity team. You could play all the way around or be the setter for your team. Keep practicing all of it too. Maybe work on your serving. You might be able to be a libero for the front or the back row if you are as good as you say you are. Maybe work on the approach for spiking if you want to be awesome in the front row. Another tip is to practice running and do anything like sit-ups to strengthen your core. Maybe work on your vertical jump if you are not good at that. Good Luck at the tryouts!!!!! = )

Am I to short to be an outside hitter in college?

I'm currently 13 and about 5'6. For my club team, I'm an outside hitter. My mom tells me everyday after practice that if I want to play in college that I have to be a setter or in the back row because I'm to small to play outside. I want to go to a division one school for sure. But I'm tired of my mom always telling me that I'm not going to be tall enough to play in college. Is that true? Please don't tell me that I have to be in the back row or be a setter because that's not what I want to know. I just want to know if I would be able to play for division one in college. Okay, I went to Nails Deluxe in Bristol, in the Broadmead shopping centre. I had false white tips put on and when they did them they filed my natural nail near the cuticle tooo much to the point that now my natural nails has indents and they hurt a bit, Any one know what i could do to fix this? When/how should I dump the ball?

I'm the starting setter for my high school team in a 6-2 rotation, and we're playing districts next week. I wanted to start using a dump more effectively to have more range with our attacks. How do I calm my dog down before he is euthanized?

I have an 11 year old English Setter who was diagnosed with a brain tumor in February. He was doing really well until recently. We had him on 200mg of vetprofen and that suddenly seemed to stop working. Our vet told us that increasing the dosage or changing the medication would be our choice, but she recommended that it would be best if we stopped after 200mg. That's what we're doing; we would rather let him go on a high note rather than hit him up with tons of pills until he goes. Our vet also gave us some percocet, but she said only to give it to him if the vetprofen stops working and only for a maximum for 5 days (it's just to keep him out of pain until we can get him in for the euthanasia.) We started him on the percocet Friday and we're taking him in on Monday. It seems to be working well but he's still walking crooked and falling due to his tumor. He's still wagging and kissing everyone like his normal self, only he's weak and sickly. He's a good dog, but he's an anxious, nervous wreck when getting in the car, going to the vet, and being at the vet. Is there anything I can do to calm him for the ride and everything? The last thing I want is for him to be stressed...

Would painting my daughters fingernails be harmful?

I bit the skin off from my mouth, can it get infected easier because it's in my mouth?

I had a little piece of skin hanging in my mouth, so i bit it, and next thing i knew, under my lip, a nice fingernail sized section was missing. The next day it was swollen like crazy, and it's a yellowish bump. I swish every day, and make sure to keep my mouth clean, but is it at more of a risk for infection? I can't bandage it up or anything, so do I just let it sit for a few more days?

If there are no numbers, then you could probably hold one shoe up to the other, so that their soles are touching and see if they are the same size. I'm 5' 7" and strong, and like 130 pounds which i know, im fat, but hey, i can still jump very high. I'm also a very fast learner, and my reaction time is great, and i adore volleyball so much because i can actually use my brain and think about my options. What activities do you want the dog to be able to participate in with you? What is your experience level with dogs? What sort of personality do you prefer? How much shedding can you tolerate? Hiow much time and effort are you willing to invest in training? Do you have other pets and what kinds? Are there children in your home? And so on. Small bruise in my fingernail?

Fingernail torn off accidentally.?

I was messing around with some friends and I pushed open a window and it slid open really fast and my fingers got caught between the panes and the skin connecting the nail and tissue was torn. I have been a libero for a few years. I got moved up to varsity last year and did some hitting on the side but libero has always been my key position. I played club volleyball this past club season as an outside hitter and did a pretty decent job. Now, my coach switched me to an outside hitter for the upcoming high school regular season and I really want to take it seriously and do a great job. I'm pretty short, but I have a decent jump and a pretty quick approach. I manage to get the ball down pretty well and I can hit hard but I only hit hard by accident (lol!). I haven't figured out completely what makes me hit hard so I can do it every time. What do you do to make a volleyball hit harder? Also, I can hit pretty well anywhere except for the left corner when I hit. I always hit across the court, but never straight down the line. I know I can do it, but when I try I never do. Also, I'm right handed, but I want to learn how to hit with my left hand, too, because my setter sometimes hits WAAAAY too far outside and I can just barely reach. I can hit left handed but it's always a very soft hit and I have no control of the direction. And, any tips for blocking?

Is setting or hitting harder in volleyball...?

It all depends on what you want to do in volleyball. Personally, I prefer hitting; I'm an outside hitter and I enjoy that because you get the crowd going when you get a really good kill. But if it weren't for the setter, that wouldn't be possible. Hitting is much harder to learn because it takes lots of time to perfect your approach and timing, but setting takes time to learn as well. You have to learn to be able to project it to where you want to go and make it precise so as the hitter will be able to, well, hit. Both are difficult, but both are rewarding. It depends on your goals with what you want to do. <3

Er..I was wearing red nail polish one for ages and when I took it off it was a weird color. I just re-painted my nails and it turned out fine when my nails grew. It seems to me like it's just a surface stain and it will grow out with your nails. I now use a base coat and that stops the staining.

Ok, so today I took my dog into the vet and the theytold me he has a yeast infection in his ear. They gave me drops to give him and stuff. Calming our yellow lab/english setter during the day ......?

we leave for work in the morning and leave our dog at home by himself. He is crated and he cries/barks when we are not at home. I have clippers that I used for ingrown toenails and they work great! Is it past the nail bed? Cut it off angled the best you can without clipping too far down. If there is still anything catching put a band aid over it until you can trim it down again...

Islands of Adventure: WWOHP?

I will be going to the park on July 11th most likely...or the 12th depending on travel plans. I have never been to Universal Studios so I don't really know what I'm doing =). So I guess I am only gonna get a ticket for Island of Adventure b/c really what I want to see is the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. My question is what/how many rides are at the WWOHP? Why do right-side hitters get set less than others?

I am a right side hitter on my varsity team, and club and in both I am one of the strongest hitters on the team, but I always get set less. When i watch other games, their right side hitters always get set less than the others too. I can guess why, that usually its easiest for the setters to set the outside, but are there any other reasons?

Why does my hair feel course after i wash it?

I have processed hair and sometimes i wash it myself instead of going to the hairdresser. I use shampoo and conditioner as well as deep conditioner but i realize that my hair ends up feeling course and not silky when i dry it. I put it in setters and blow dry it but it doesn't feel the same as when i do it at the hair dresser. Why is that?

Help! Horizontal ridges on my toenails?

I'm seventeen years old and I just now realised I have faint (but I'm able to feel them) horizontal ridges on my toenails. There are a few nails that don't have any ridges but most of them do. My fingernails have no ridges at all. I looked it up and apparently it can be caused by something serious? Does anyone know what it might be? I have been extremely stressed over the past two or three months could that be a cause?

How to get more playing time.?

I play less than a third a game on my team and not to sound cocky but I am clearly the best outside hitter on the team. I have to wait five rotations just to get in and by that time it is almost over. I don't think it is fair for me or the team. We always do better when I am in (0-1 errors and at least 6 kills a match which is only a third). Also my coach always tells the setters to set me so I don't think he has a problem with me.

Nail Polish on a wall?! Please help!!?

So my sister was chasing me through the house while my bright neon orange nail polish was still drying, and i scraped my fingernails on our light blue painted wall.. I tried nail polish remover but that seemed to slowly remove the actual paint from the wall, and even though i pften swear by the Magic Eraser, that didn't help either, Any suggestions for getting this stuff off?

I keep getting distracted. I don't know what exactly is going on. I want to play college volleyball I'm a very good player. I mostly play as an setter or an outside hitter. I am really concerned about my height though. Okay is this normal I have very thick hair and have a relatively good diet (of greasy fat double fried foods and then busting my *** 3 hours a day on exercise) So anyways! My hair grew 3/4 of an inch... In 2 weeks!!!!! I AM LIKE BUGGING OUT!! I measure it by stick a piece of tap to my part (down the middle) and then to the end of my hair and measure that daily. Windows Vista Stuck at Welcome screen?

So recently my laptop got a virus and i used malawarebytes anti-malware to remove the virus and it did but then when i turned my laptop back on all my documents and setters were gone so i made a new user on the laptop restarted it turned it on and it was stuck at the Welcome screen so then i did a system restore and turned it on then i got blue screen in both regular and safe mode so then i started the laptop up with last know good configuration now it just is stuck at the welcome screen and when i try safemode it gets blue screen. How can i stop my puppy from biting?

We have a 9month old Irish setter puppy that we got from someone a week ago. He has been partly trained and is an absolutely great natured pup (i'm saying pup because of his age though when you stand next to him his height and sheer size is very intimidating). How do I get through the 1st anniversary of my Mom's death?

I guess I've been stressed about it for a while. So next week is like my own little miserable walk down memory lane. July fourth is when my Mom passed away. July Fourth also happens to be my best friends b-day, but she doesn't understand and has always been a little insensitive. So I don't want to be around her. July sixth was the day my Mom's memorial service was held. July Seventh was the day of my Mom's funeral. This summer on July ninth my dad is having a pool party at my house. Then July Tenth is my birthday. I don't really want be around other people. I want to be alone. I don't want to reminisce about the positive things that happened and have a cry fest with my family. Dog still scratching and digging after frontline?

I have three inside dogs. A boxer, a beagle, and an irish setter. The boxer and the beagle are fine. The irish setting is still digging and scratching after I've put a new dose of frontline on . I put the new one on about three days ago and I try and keep it fairly regular on the "every 30 days" thing. She has even broken out with a red rash on her stomach and back legs. Should I give her more frontline? I havent seen any fleas in the house or on the dogs this year. Tips?

HELP PLEASE! Nikon D3000 "error press shutter release button again"?

I got the Nikon d3000 for christmas. and i was just taking a normal picture. the setters were on auto which i never use but for some reason i just had it on auto. i took a picture, it worked but then it said error press shutter release button again. and every time i press it it makes a weird noise and doesn't take a picture. i'm really scared that its broken! but i didn't even do anything! it didn't drop or anything! :( what do i do? can i fix it? or call nikon or something?

In the most basic sense, yes, they are lying to us cause it hasn't happend yet. But on a bigger scale they are downplaying the soon return of the Lord. Most of these people read the bible and know they cannot tell the EXCACT time. I highlight excact cause I believe true Christians will know when time is growing short. Anyway, these date setters must be purposely trying to decieve the world into thinking Jesus will not return. There is go other explaination. Now when the Lords return gets imminent most will say remember all those people crying wolf all those times? They will be caught unaware.

I totally agree. I do hang out with the "popular" people but I also hang out with my old friends that aren't so popular and I find myself wishing sometimes that I would have just stayed with my "uncool" friends they are way funner ! and I find that my popular friends talk about each other and then they act like best friends but I really do have some close popular friends .the reason I have popular friends is cus I'm a high school cheerleader and the reason I have uncool friends is cus I used to be in band. But I really enjoy hanging out with my "uncool" friends more. I think they have more personality and they no how to have fun and they can act themselves around each other cus they r real friends. The popular people feel as if they acted crazy around each other someone would judge them.I know how you feel though cus I can literally see the difference in the groups.cus I'm in both which is where I wanna be I don't wanna be uncool nor a "popular "" girl.
